ilaas spring bbq recap!

ah yes, what a great day to have a bbq.... in an apartment!

well, as most of you probably knew, the spring bbq location was changed to apt 25 in the 1109 stoughton building (robin's apt), due to the awfully chilly weather *sob*...

i'm glad a lot of you came over to hang out, eat, talk, laugh, play, and all that good stuff! also, i hope vickie didn't get sick after sacrificing herself by cooking all the food on the grill for a good 4 hours! cheers to you, vickie!

alas, the new officers are starting to now take over the ilaas organization. very soon as well, i (ben) will not be your webmaster anymore. instead, it will be tri. it's gonna be awesome next year! woo woo!

ilaas spring bbq!

on april 28th at crystal lake, ilaas is holding its final event of the school year! yes, it's our annual spring bbq! last year was a blast, everyone had an awesome time, and this year is going to be the same! on the front page, you can sign up online for the spring bbq so we can get an idea of how many people will be going. also, feel free to have fun with the two new online polls on the front page!

ilaas positions open!

as the year comes to a close, you can now apply to be a part of the executive board of ilaas! so far, the positions open are treasurer, webmaster, and social director. president, vice-president, and secretary all already have candidates, but if you think you're qualified, then by all means, go for it!

broomball recap and the upcoming SPRING BBQ!!!!!

well, after playing for ilaas in the broomball tournament, i must say that it's really cool! tons of fun!! even though ilaas ended up not making it to the playoffs, everyone had a great time playing! next year, we'll make a comeback...

before the month of april is through, ilaas is going to have its final big event, which is its annual spring bbq picnic. last year, it was held at crystal lake, and it was awesome! check for vickie's email very soon, and we hope to all see you there! believe me, everyone's definitely gonna have a great time! great food, great spring weather, sports, games, what more could you want??? hehe... get ready for it!!

IMPE night recap

hey everyone! sorry the updates haven't been coming in lately... i've been really really really busy . but anyway, we all had a great time at IMPE last friday! like we promised, ilaas reserved badminton and volleyball courts for you, and i think all of us totally had an awesome time! for me, it was a good thing to get a little exercise after sitting in front of a computer (at my apartment and at work), and it was also fun teaming up with vickie to beat robin and jenni in badminton ! we are the champions! hehe...

anyway, if you haven't been coming to our events lately, you should really start coming! keep checking your email from vickie and keep visitng this website! later!

ice skating recap (written by our new co-social chair kevin ho)!

Thank you all for coming to the skating at ice arena last Friday. Our
social co-chair Jenni had the best record with 9 falls, the last 8 were
continuous within 5 minutes, very prodigious. Treasurer Robin was too busy
taking care of Jenni so he didn't get to fall. Webmaster Ben with his
innovative nature found some new way to have fun as usual... shovel off the
ice from the rink and made snowball to throw on people. President Mark had a
good split while I was taking his picture.. VP external Mike had some kind of
phobia that his hand will get cut off by blades.. so he stay on the bench as a
security guard and coat keeper. I personally had a good fall, face down..
flat.. VP internal Karen was the most skillful one.. I don't remember she
fall.. overall the net fall is 9+1+0.5+?=?

recap of the ilaas dinner and gamenight!

it was great! all of us first headed over to yen jing buffet to get our eat on. i personally had two full plates of food, and then another plate devoted entirely to dessert. anyway, after that, we headed over to the new evo internet cafe to hang out, drink cool bubble tea (if you were a member, you got a free drink from us), and play tons of games, including awesome board games, card games, and of course a couple computer games upstairs. a good handful of us ended up staying there until 4:00 in the morning. it was pretty crazy.

we at ilaas want to start the year off with a blast, so we thought it'd be cool to join forces with hawaii club (http://www.uiuc.edu/ro/hawaii) and go paintballing!

if you're interested, sign up a.s.a.p. because space is limited to 20 people (since you can't have too many people inside the field at the same time).
