the head coordinators of the UIUC unseen unheard conference came to me to make a website, and i gladly joined their team. the website contained information about the speakers, the workshops, the schedule, as well as a form to register online. sure enough, the conference was a success. i was also the unseen unheard booklet co-chair, and you can see images from the booklet below. in 2005, i also helped the new coordinators update the original website design. |

the bright light education foundation website here |
the bright light foundation is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to help build and/or renovate elementary schools in china. i was asked to design their website to provide background information about the organization and allow visitors to contribute and donate. |

during summer 2002, i was privileged to work with the city of chicago's web team as an intern in the business information services (bis) department. one of my projects was taking pictures of chicago and designing a new pictures section for the city's website. the section includes many still shots, webcams, and panoramics. the chicago images website received ~30,000 hits a month. it is indeed a satisfying feeling to know that people looking to view pictures of chicago are viewing a website that i created. the design was intended to blend in with the rest of the city of chicago website. |
![]() see the aaa 2002 website here |
as the 2001-2002 webmaster of the asian american association (aaa), i transformed the website into an e-zine, filled with articles from the aaa newsletter. the website strongly encouraged interactivity and exploration, such as a weblog that allowed any aaa officer to make announcements and a showcase display of other people's computer desktops. |
![]() see the aaa 2001 website here |
i made two versions of the asian american association, and this was the first version. it was my first experience in creating a website mainly in flash. |
![]() see the ilaas website here |
this is the website i made for illini life for asian-american students (ilaas) as their webmaster from 2000-2002. i created and maintained frequent user visits by updating the site on an almost daily basis with updates, news, quotes of the week, jokes, polls, and pictures. although the site went through many design changes, the use of tables in many different ways were the key to the entire design each time. please click on the "archives" section to view the various site designs. |

as web/computer assistant of the institue of government and public affairs (igpa), i was given the responsibility of directing certain parts of the igpa website, one of which was a webpage for the academy for municipal excellence (ame). the style was intentionally kept simplistic, using bright colors and link mouseovers to maintain a pleasant design. |
![]() see the 20seven.net website here |
this is one of the first websites i ever made. its simple navigation and overall design is fun and easy to use. |
![]() see the Horng website flash intro here |
